ABOUT US
At Monarch Butterfly Enterprises, we are environmentalists at heart with over thirty years of economic development experience along with writing successful grant applications to fund many programs and projects throughout the State of Maryland. Also, we have added a real estate division to create healthy and eco-friendly homes throughout the City of Baltimore.
Our mission was clear in the beginning, community revitalization comes from funding, partnerships, and sustainability. We also have an ecological and healthy approach philosophy to build capacity of organizations and to create, renovate and develop homes for residents that will reduce utility bills through water, energy efficiency and renewable energy while reducing the carbon footprint on the environment.

Joy Owens
When Joy started her interior design business over 25 years ago she wanted to change environments for primarily low income families. She thought the spaces were void of color, life and art. As a former member of the Federal Hill Preservation society, Joy learned early on that the history of each project should be woven through the renovation and tell a story. Joy utilizes every project with artwork to incorporate detail and integrity thoroughout her deisgn process. She has taken that sense of creativity to incorporate spaces that speak volumes with the small to large budgets. Projects span from numerous residential projects to various projects such as Total Health Care sites, BMW of Sterling and numerous apartment buildings.
